Mexico Missions Trip 2010 Information

Mexico Missions Trip

Aug 21-Aug 29, 2010

Information Packet

Who is able to come?

Pretty much anyone. This is a family mission's trip, which means that people of all different ages are welcome to come. Because of the nature of the place where we are serving, everyone has a place where they can use what they have to serve.Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

When are we going?

Short answer: Aug 21-29. Once we have a firm number we will book the tickets and give you more detailed itinerary.

What will we be doing?

The typical day looks like this:

  • Breakfast
  • Sala (Worship)
  • Work Projects
  • Lunch
  • Continue Work Projects
  • VBS
  • Dinner
  • Evening Outreach

Where are we going?

Vicente Guerrero, Mexico, which is a small town about 60 miles south of Ensenada in Baja California. We will be working and staying at a mission there that has an orphanage and other outreaches to the community there. The name of the organization we are working with is called Foundation For His Ministries (www.ffhm.org).

Where will we be staying?

They have very nice accommodations that are a cross between a hotel room and a dorm. Smaller rooms are available for families.

How safe is Mexico right now?

Mexico is not as orderly as America and you might have heard about some incidences that have happened in Mexico. Although there is a slight danger, we will be avoiding most of the problem areas. Where we are staying is very far south from the border and has not experienced any change in safety. The compound where we are staying is as safe as can be expected in a foreign country.

How much will it cost?

We will be doing our fundraising as a team, so the amount that we need to raise for the trip will be determined by how many people are going. The approximate cost is $800/person, but we will all be responsible for . We work hard every year to give you the resources to raise all or most of the money needed to go. A $50 deposit is required to sign up to allow us to begin making reservations.

DO I need a passport?

Yes. You can get one very easily - click here to go to the government passport website. Make sure you have applied by 6/21.

What do I do now?

Pray. Talk to your family. Ask God to show you if He wants you on this trip.

Sign up with a $50 deposit. The application is available online at the Mexico Missions Trip application website.

Get your passport. Download an application off the Internet and follow the directions for getting one. It takes 6 to 8 weeks to secure a passport, so do it as soon as possible.

We will start meeting in March to begin fundraising, training, and growing as a team.
